What is Oxy-17®?

Oxy-17® are oxygen metabolic imaging agents (TVI-agents) which are injected intravenously prior to Imaging in a standard MRI scanner. They track oxygen metabolism at the cellular level in the region of interest at 1 mm resolution with a time course that renders it ideal for several clinical indications. Clincal applications of these are significant in the measurement of oxygen
uptake (OEF/R) , of heart, brain, visceral , and transplant .tissue Oxy-17® may also be useful to study the brain tissue oxygen uptake (OEF/R) ,in epilepsy for foci localization, in-situ tissue regeneration (tissue engineering) including the effects of newly formulated therapeutics. Cardiac myocardium status and effects of the above compound in cardio genesis, apoptosis etc
How is Oxy-17® made ? To formulate it four things are needed;
1.Oxygen-17 gas 70% (High enrichment and certified for purity and
cGMP) [Part # ORN-G70-1]
2. Oxynator™-a gas loading device
[Part # ORR-R-6]
3. OxyCart™a gas transfer device.
[ORM-CA-5]
4 Gas Transporting Fluid- Such as autologous blood or modified Hemoglobin, or other a cellular Oxygen carrier.
What is Oxynator™: is a device to formulate Oxy-17® in vitro for infusion into the subject prior to imaging.
What is OxyCart™:
is a single use medical device
consisting of a hollow fiber artificial lung (Oxygenator), used in conjunction with the Oxynator™ to formulate Oxy-17® using autologous blood.
