Key Functions

• Review schematic design drawings for functional flow and movement, operational procedure and technique within the facility. 

• Meet with the project team to establish responsibilities associated with the planning, specifying, procuring, and installation of group I and group II medical equipment

• Prepare room-by-room generic fixed and movable equipment check-list based on an approved space program and /or schematic design drawings

• Meet with the user groups to review the room-by-room equipment check-list, and to establish equipment criteria, priorities, standards, and preferences.

• Update room-by-room equipment list based on user input. 

• Walk-through the equipment-intensive areas of existing facility, to assess technology level of exiting equipment and type of procedural techniques ( OR, imaging, emergency ; Image guided surgery, minimum invasive surgery, robotics surgery etc. ). 

• Prepare the computerized schematic design equipment budget documentation to include: Room-by-room equipment budget.Departmental equipment budget,Total project equipment budget, Equipment budget for Contractor Furnished/Installed items, Owner furnished/Contractor Installed items, Owner Furnished/Installed items and Owner furnished Vendor installed items . 

• Review the project equipment budget with the project administrator, revise as required to be within the project cost. 

• Distribute the approved schematic design equipment program budget reports to project team as directed by the architect.
